Gags biography

Three schoolfriends from Leeds, with a shared love of the blues, went to study at Manchester University in the late 1970s and formed a band. Gags recorded one album "Death In Buzzards' Gulch", released in 1978 to positive reviews in the music press. Eschewing the chance to support George Thorogood and the Destroyers the band members graduated and moved into non-music related jobs. Keyboard player Brendan Gore and guitarist Gerry McLaughlin reformed the band in the early 1980s, purely as a blues covers band, and they were for several years in the mid-late 1980s resident at Manchester's legendary Band on The Wall club. Death In Buzzards' Gulch is now a rare and highly collectable album, mint copies fetching £75-80 (in early 2010)
